Freaks On Parade Tour- Rob Zombie & Mudvayne

The 2022 “Freaks On Parade” show at Ruoff, headlined by Rob Zombie, was delayed due to a production truck with the sound & light equipment arriving late after breaking down on the way to the venue because of catching on fire.

The first two acts, Static X and Powerman 5000 were canceled as a result. The music finally started at 9:16, and what a start it was!

Within the first minute, the crowd was eager and thrilled to see band Mudvayne’s signer, Chad Gray, complete with his psychotic & abused-looking painted clown face makeup, jump off the stage and stand onto the top of the barricade that keeps the fans from the stage. Fanatics pulling Chad towards them, and security holding him back.

The energy of the crowd was fantastic including the many families with younger children eager to show their kids. Despite the apparent on-stage insanity, everyone looked to be enjoying themselves.

At 10:22, Rob Zombie emerged atop a huge platform adorning the name ZOMBIE.

The stage was lit up like a psychedelic horror movie accompanied by music so powerful that moves the hair on your head. (While next to the bass speaker, my leg hair moved back and forth from the sound waves)

Zombie’s charisma and years of expert showmanship showed on stage while he was engaging with the audience.

Not just about the music, the show consists of stunning visuals including larger-than-life monsters, dancing robots and aliens, and LED screens illuminating scenes from various Rob Zombie-produced horror films.

Because the first two of the four bands didn’t have a chance to perform, before the night was over, Rob Zombie invited the members of Static-X and Powerman 5000 on stage to jam with him and his band on a couple of songs including a Ramones cover, Blitzkrieg Bop.

Produced by Live Nation, what could have been a much different night due to delays, turned out to be a wonderful evening because of their diligence and professionalism.
